Undoubtedly the festivities par excellence in our town are “Los Sanmigueles”. The big day is in honor ofSt. Michael the Archangel, on September 29, although the Virgin of the Rosary is also celebrated the following day. From the traditional point of view, the most characteristic features of these festivities are the “walkers”, four young men accompanying the saint with different symbols such as a cane, a sword or a flag and all carrying a red band on their chest with the quote “Quien Cómo Dios” meaning of Michael in Hebrew. Their function is fundamental in the procession, since they walk in front of the image of the saint and after taking several steps, they turn and bow in front of it.
